I meant to post this earlier but didn’t because my mother called. Anyway, this challenge for Unfuck Your Habitat was posted and at the time, I was just getting ready to get up anyway, so I decided, “What the fuck, why not?”
The challenge: clear off a surface.
So this was my kitchen counter. I usually keep my house pretty clean. I had earlier washed out the dishwasher earlier today and these were the dishes I washed via hand.
I put these away, and the dishes in the dishwasher. Then refilled the 5 gallon water dish for the cats, put away some random shit on the counter tops (snack bags, bottles for reuse that didn’t get put away, etc), and then pried wax from some dead candles out so I can reuse the candle glass for other things. Final result was this:
What’s left on the counter are seedlings which’ll remain inside until the upcoming week of rain passes. The glow were candles that were lit previously but hidden by the dishes.
Furthermore, I started two new projects: cleaning my tin? copper? teapot and seasoning my cauldron (a yearly task which I do even if I don’t use the bloody thing). I put them in the sink with a cooling, empty candle glass container and some homemade ice cream which I’m in the process of remixing.
By the way, does anyone have suggestions for getting rid of the rust in the cauldron’s cast iron or the the paper stuck on the teapot?

A salt and oil mixture scrubbed in can help with the rust.
