Money is terrible. I do OK, but I never seem to have enough of it. Because I’m a stubborn ass and refuse to stop smoking like a chimney or drinking like a fish, I’ve been working on unfucking everything else within my power.
- I found a discount through my employer that knocked $10 off my monthly AT&T bill
- I reduced my Netflix subscription to just streaming since I never return the damn DVDs anyhow (savings = $12/month)
- I finally bothered to get the fancy card for the PATH train so I pay $1.50/trip instead of $2 (savings = $20/month)
- I figured out the cheapest, most delicious breakfast in my company cafeteria (shut up, this totally counts) - Large coffee, toasted bagel with lox and cream cheese or hummus and capers = $3.62 (our cafeteria is heavily subsidized) Because for some reason an egg and cheese bagel + coffee = almost $6?! How does this make sense?? (I spend a lot of time in the company cafeteria.)
So that’s $50ish more per month than I had before. Baby steps!
I just dropped an entire paycheck to fix my cat, and when I move in August my rent will basically double, so every little bit helps. Srsly money, you are the worst.
