Any advice for massive digital unfucking? I'm switching to a new computer and because it has multiple hard drives in it, I need to have my folders organized properly (so images can all go on one, and things like applications that need to run on the faster hard drive can go on the other). Which means I need to sort about 200 gigs of terribly organized image files into proper categories (work images vs personal, etc). They're currently in random folders scattered across my desktop. Help?

First off, everything — files and folders — should have descriptive names. Start with your most commonly used folders, and do some 20/10s, grouping everything logically. Begin by making large mega-folders, like work and personal, and then use subfolders to sort everything into those.

Good luck.
