Thanks to my niece sticking things on my walls, I have a lot of sticky tape residue on my walls. I've tried Goo Gone and Greased Lightning, but they both damaged the paint. Can you recommend anything that would take the residue off without damaging the paint?

  1. ughwhocares said: I made a goo remover by mixing equal parts coconut oil and baking soda which I typically use to remove price tag stickers and labels from glass and plastic bottles. Maybe it will work for this too.
  2. contenthousewife said: Magic eraser might harm the paint too, if it’s anything other than white…also, good to know Goo Gone might damage paint, I wouldn’t have thought of that.
  3. tsuginojibun said: Olive oil can also work to get rid of goo, but you’ll need to soak it. Maybe use painters tape and adhere a paper towel soaked in olive oil to the part of the wall where the tape residue is?

  6. cherrispryte said: dishwashing soap (or fabuloso) and a cheap t-shirt as a rag. the t-shirt fabric is just abrasive enough to get the residue off without harming walls. I learned this the hard way!
