Wanted to share a tip for fleas the vacuuming might miss - at night, whatever room they are worst, put a white sheet/towel down, place a clear bowl of water on top and shine a light directly onto the bowl. They are attracted to white and don't see the bowl of water. It really can help get a handle on a sudden infestation without using poisons

Keep in mind, fleas need an animal host to survive, so once the dog is not there (or treated), they will eventually die off. I have pets that contracted fleas and once treated, vacuumed and didn’t have to do any other fancy tricks to deal with them.
