Terrifying motivation for lazy people with messy homes

I’m getting ready to move into a house that my parents own. It’s a small house, but it’s just right for me. I’ve been cleaning for the past couple of weeks because my sister had lived there and just moved out. And she’s kind of a slob lol. A few days ago someone pointed me in the direction of Unfuck Your Habitat, so today, I decided to try it out. I did a few 20/10s and got so much done!

My bathroom sink, mirrors, and window is clean. Some of the walls are clean and the shower doors. I got a couple of new light switch covers up and yay! They’re white and clean instead of dirty and the color of the old walls. But the biggest thing was getting the metal stove cover thingies clean. The ones that go under the burner. Stuff was caked on them and it stunk so bad when you tried to turn on a burner. So I put some hot water in the sink, some vinegar, and some soap and let them soak. I took them out and scrubbed them with some steel wool (which, yeah, I know might scratch them, but they were THAT BAD.) and lo and behold, they’re almost sparkly. They might need another soak to get completely clean, but they already look so much better. It was kind of nasty, the water was literally black by the time I was done, but also MAGICAL.

And then I came home, went into my room to change my shirt, and my bed was glaring at me. I usually ignore the MAKE YOUR BED posts because meh, why should I make my bed? But I really looked at it. I have no junk on it, no blankets. It’ll literally take two seconds to pull the top sheet back and straighten it. So I did. Thanks UfyH for changing my life!
