Terrifying motivation for lazy people with messy homes

What is your recommendation on keeping/throwing away boxes that expensive items come in? For example, I have the box my DSLR camera came in, the box my laptop came in (even though it's three years old), etc. It just seems like a bad idea to me to throw these out, but is that stupid? I don't think there's any chance I'll ever be taking the items back, but I worry about throwing the boxes away. I'm not sure why.

If you know you’re keeping it, or it’s out of warranty, or if you won’t actually need to ship it if it needs repairs, chuck the box. In the unlikely event you need to box it, boxes can be found. The only exception I’d make is if you move frequently and it’s an item that needs original packaging to survive the move.
