As I mentioned in my previous unfucking success post, I have recently moved. My old house had no toaster oven. The new house does. It has obviously not been cleaned in a long time. One of my new housemates and I attacked our kitchen and cleaned all the appliances that sit on the counter, seasoned our big cutting board and our butcher block, scrubbed the stovetop and the sink, scrubbed the countertop…Everything is much better. I have just a couple of photos for you.
Firstly, the toaster oven. The top was covered in goo, because the trays live on top and are never cleaned, apparently, before being stowed there. This photo is AFTER a bunch of scrubbing already.
The inside was full of crumbs, caked on goo, and the glass was all fucked up.
Some of the discoloration (on the handles, some of the glass, the sides) is obviously permanent, but with a scrubbie, vinegar, a Magic Eraser, and lots of elbow grease, the toaster is looking pretty good. The aforementioned trays are in the sink right now soaking in vinegar and baking soda.
These pictures are subtle, but this is the countertop before and after Magic Eraser. It’s probably not the best thing for the countertop to be scrubbed so hard with one, but it needed to be done, and hopefully maintenance with happen so it doesn’t need to be done again.

The color is supposed to be mottled yellow and off-white, but it was FAR more yellow than it originally was. I could feel the textural difference before and after. YUCK.

the glass stains aren’t permanent…try a paste of baking soda left on for a while, smidgen of oven cleaner will just deal...
