The other day I was telling someone about Unfuck Your Habitat and the difference it has made for me, and it ocurred to me that maybe I should do my part and actually share my unfucking success story. And it really is a success story: I’ve always been an extremely messy person, but now, two months after spending several weeks unfucking things, my apartment is consistently tidy enough even for surprise visitors and can be thoroughly clean in less than an hour. Never in my 28 years of life have I managed this before. YAY!

Since I never planned on sharing this with anyone (so much embarassment…) I don’t have any “before” pictures, but here are the most telling “inbetween” and “after” ones - I’ll put some more  under the cut.

This is my computer area when most of the cleaning was already done. To get an idea of how it started out: Imagine every surface cluttered with various stuff, the area below the desk dusty and filled with trash, and the drawers practically overflowing with two years worth of unsorted bills and papers.

The most representative “after” picture: the room after I had finished cleaning and started redecorating!

Next projects are painting my ugly old dresser and maybe even my bed, sewing a throw for the sofa to match the paint, redecorating the walls and maybe finding some matching rugs. But I feel so much more at home already!
