So, Persephone’s server gave up the ghost today. As anyone involved with the site knows, we’re all volunteers and pay for expenses like servers out of our ad revenue and make up the difference with donations, and make up the difference from THAT out of our own pockets. (Hint: it’s mostly that third thing.)
We don’t have deep pockets. Ophelia’s been working since last night trying to flatter the server into working again, flatter our hosting company into giving us a bigger, shinier server, and generally trying to get things up and running as quickly as possible. What it boils down to is that it’s going to cost us. So if you’re a reader, a lurker, or just a supporter of awesome places for and by women, consider tossing a few bucks into the server fund.
The editorial team, which I’m incredibly proud to be a part of, wants to get back to business as usual with our awesome team of writers and community of commenters and readers. So if you have it to spare, we’d be beyond grateful for anything you can throw our way.
P-Mag is a very important place for me. My alter ego is a senior editor there. :D
